Volkswagen BlueMotion Technology At EcoVelocity

Volkswagen BlueMotion Technology At EcoVelocity

Visitors to the low-carbon motor show, EcoVelocity, which will be held at Battersea Power Station in London between 8th and 11th September 2011 will be able to find out more about Volkswagen's latest BlueMotion products both on display and on the track.

The Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid and Scirocco BlueMotion Technology will be available for tests on EcoVelocity's circuit.

The Volkswagn Scirocco BlueMotion, with its 2.0 litre TDI 140PS engine, features Stop/Start technology which helps to save fuel when the vehicle is stationary and battery regeneration which recovers energy to charge the battery.

Meanwhile, the Volkswagen Toureg Hybrid features both a 3.0 litre V6 TSI engine and a 34.3 kW electric motor, which is capable of powering the car alone at speeds of 31mph.

The Volkswagen BlueMotion Technologies will feature a touchscreen experience and 'rollercoaster' which will take visitors ona journey to discover the innovations used for fuel consumption and emission reductions.

The 74.3mpg, 99g/km CO2 Volkswagen Golf BlueMotion will also be on display, alongside the Volkswagen Polo 1.2 litre TSI 105PS.

EcoVelocity Director, Giles Brown, said, "We'e delighted to have Volkswagen at EcoVelocity as it is one of the game-changing brands that really started the movement towards no-compromise ultra-low carbon motoring. Its BlueMotion range set the industry benchmark and we look forward to getting a further insight into their ground-breaking technology at EcoVelocity in September."
